| Professor Fleck is acknowledged as a world leader in Micromechanics of Materials. By combining experiment, theory and numerical analysis, he develops physically based models for an outstanding breadth of materials and topics. He has made seminal contribution in very different fields of materials science ranging from a plasticity theory predicting size effects to a model for skin mechanics. In Germany, he will work on the modelling mechanisms in skin adhesion for novel implant materials |
